Scone with Honey Butter are tender, flaky scones enriched with cream and butter, baked to a golden crust, then paired with a soft honey-sweetened butter spread. They’re easy to mix, cut, and bake in about 35 minutes total for a fresh-from-oven treat.

Ingredients

  • 2.50 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.50 tsp salt
  • 0.50 cup butter, cold and cubed
  • 0.50 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 0.25 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp honey

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and egg until just combined.
  5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface, pat into a 1-inch circle, and cut into 8 wedges.
  6. Place wedges on a baking sheet and brush tops with milk.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Meanwhile, whisk softened butter and honey until smooth.
  9. Serve warm scones with honey butter.
